2006 Suzuki Forenza and a Blown Headgasket

So, I went to leave work on Saturday and after turning on my car there was quite a ruckus and white smoke started blowing out of my exhaust, so I parked it, turned it off and let it be. It's been there ever since. From everyone I've asked, it seems to be a blown head gasket. Which is not an easy or a cheap fix. So after a lot of stress and worry I've decided on getting a new car.

The hardest thing about this is that I am upside down in my car right now. I owe 4.5K, the car is worth 3.8K, to fix the car it would be about 1.5K... soo it's just a bad situation in general. So Skyler and I decided that instead of sinking the money in my Suzuki we are just going to look for a new one, annnnnnnnnnd I found it.
I've already been qualified for it.
Are you ready?!?!?

It's a 2013 Mazda Mazda2 Touring!
I am so excited for it right now.

Don't get me wrong, I have not signed any paperwork yet and I haven't even seen the vehicle so it's not guaranteed. I am going to see it tomorrow night though!!

My payment is going to go up.. which is not cool. I'm paying $170 and the Mazda payment will be $250.
le-sigh
Although, it's going from a 2006 to a 2013 and I'm rolling over a balance.. sooo I guess I can't really complain. Ya dig?
HOWEVER! My insurance won't go up... kindof.
I want to switch from StateFarm to Allstate. If I stay with StateFarm I will pay $86 a month. If I move to Allstate I will pay $86, but I can get a little toggle thingy discount where it tracks how I am driving and I get a discount, bringing me down to $74.
Sooooo I would actually save $0.94 by switching to Allstate!!
I'd rather save a dollar than pay more than $10 more....

I also have some good news that I can't quite say yet!!
I will be able to announce it later though!

Working in a financial institution

While I love working for a financial institution, it has some very big downs. Mainly since money is such a fragile thing now a days and not a lot of people have a lot of money.

Instead of complaining, I want to make it very clear that I am always willing to answer any questions about the finance world that I can answer.

Just please, please, please do not blame your lack of money management on me.

Lava Hot Springs (late post from Tuesday)

We have been back from Lava and I've only done 2 loads of laundry. Not as much as I could have done, but I'm not to concerned about it. I did however, make grilled cheese, tomato soup and brownies.. well, I had Skyler's help, but I'll take all the credit. ;)

The weekend itself was good. Skyler and I fought for a good majority of the time, but honestly, it felt like we needed to get a good fight out. The air does feel cleaner and hopefully it's moving forward from here.

anyways. Skyler and I went swimming both days, and that was nice. I got a typical bikini tan line, that I want to try and even out.. Although I hate tanning because I get so bored and it's lame. That and I don't want to pay for it.. :(
So we went swimming and I went down the scary yellow slide that goes fast and I even dived a couple of times. I'm trying to learn how to swim without plugging my nose, but a big fear is suffocating and I'm always afraid that the water is going to go up my nose and I will panic and end up drowning from panicking.

Either way, I am still working on it!
So as I was saying, Sunday night I ended up going to the hot springs all alone and I now regret it. Especially since I saw Skyler there and I wanted to so badly get his attention but I was so emotional that I just saw and tried not to cry.
:(

Good golly, after typing this I want to go and hug Skyler and let him know how much I love and care about him.

Things I Love Today, which is Thursday!!!

I've been having a hard time lately with my depression, so I've definitely had a hard time coming up with good things. Thankfully, I have a great boyfriend who is supportive and loving and kind and I could really just go on about all the great things that he is. After a great phone call with him (he is working graveyards right now) I got enough inspiration to go on with today's post, so here it goes!

As corny as it sounds, I love Safe Haven! While its definitely corny and you know how the love story is going to end, it's still great. I also love Julianne's haircut in this movie! It makes me want the exact same cut, but let's be honest, I could NOT wear blonde! Maybe I will go to a really light brown though ;)
Having officially started school! Even though it doesn't seem like much and I've only been to both classes twice, it's still something I love. Even just sitting there was so nice and I am really proud of myself. I can't wait for the rest of the semester!
Feeding Amazon. The other day I fed Amazon and walked away to lay in bed with Skyler. Amazon has this weird thing where she won't eat unless someone is near her and she can actively hear/see them. After a while Skyler and I noticed that she wasn't eating so I went over to see what was going on. She kept nudging my hand so I finally let her smell my hand and gave her some pettings and then she started eating! I never knew that she wouldn't eat without me petting her. This is something I've been doing for a long time. It started off because for the longest time Amazon was too afraid of Skyler and I that we could never pet her.  So every time I fed her, I would stay there until she came over to eat and I would pet her for just a moment before leaving her alone. It's a habit that has formed, although I never knew she wouldn't eat without our ritual. Now that I know, it makes so much sense for all the times that she never ate her food and followed me around the house. She was asking for permission!
Knowing that I don't have ovarian cancer/not pregnant/IBS/kidney stones/everything else ever! My stomach has been really sensitive and bloated lately. Because of this, I've done some Google searching and came up with the answer that I had ovarian cancer. (Don't even Google sicknesses, you will have every sickness you've heard of and more..) I had finally came to the conclusion that I was dying. I fed the cats, went to the bathroom, pooped a GOOD amount, and suddenly my stomach felt so much better! Turns out that I was just backed up, probably because I only poop every couple of days but this time I was going on a week. I also think that I've been eating too much air and drinking too much soda, so I'm sure that isn't helping.
How close I am to my trip to Virginia! I can't believe I have about 40 days left!! Gah!! I still need to go shopping for a suitcase, but I'm so excited!! I have even started planning a mini party where I am going to go out with all my favorite co workers from Virginia!
The trip to Lava Hot Springs this weekend! (Please see previous blog post!)

Now that I've over explained my loves, here are some easy ones!
I ordered a cute backpack for school! I can't wait to have it for some reason, by that I mean because I got to shop without feeling guilty....
Skyler and I have been together for 3 years and 8 months and 28 days! (Yes, we started dating on New Years... corny, right?)
Using lotion after a shower/shave. Your skin will feel so much nicer!
Using coconut oil to shave! Be careful to not use a lot, a little goes a very long way! Using to much will clog your drains. Not to mention your legs are going to be oh-so-smooth!!
For my hair cut next month! I can't wait! I still don't know what I'm going to do, but I have plenty of time to figure that out...
The new iPhone 6 is coming out soon, new phone yay!
We are having our SECOND 'FriendsGiving' this year! What's even better is that our friends have asked us about it because they are excited!
Riding my bike almost daily. Just feeling the breeze, sun and even the sore legs is so helpful for fighting off my depression.
Now that my wisdom teeth are out, my breath has gotten so much better!
Flossing daily and mouth washing daily! My breath is even better because of it.
Being able to rub my tongue on my teeth and not feeling all the gross plaque build up!
Sephora face wipes! A must have for easy make up removal.
My chromebook ;)
Skyler and I are starting towards being pescatarians! Aka we will only eat fish and not meat.

and finally!

Skyler left work early tonight!

Now that I am thinking of it, well Skyler came up with it, the reason why my stomach was/is feeling so bad is because we are working towards being pescatarian that's probably why my stomach has been so sensitive and why I have been more depressed. A change in diet, eating so much healthier, and cutting out so much sugar and fatty foods. My body is trying to adjust to the sudden change and I've been more exhausted lately and my energy has been more depleted. So with the sudden change I bet that is why I'm feeling this way!

Lava Hot Springs

So this weekend Skyler and I are going to Lava Hot Springs with his family! It's a trip we do twice a year (in the summer with his family, and in the winter as our mini getaway) and I love it.
The summer is nice because it's hot and you can go tubing down the river, eat ice cream, and then at night it's cool enough to sit in the hot springs. In the winter, it's very quiet, time seems to slow down and it's so nice to get in the hot springs when it's so cold outside! It's even better when it's snowing because the snow is chilly and yet you are so warm because of the water. On top of that, we stay at the Riverside Hot Springs Inn and they have their own hot pools in the basement, and the place itself is so cozy and nice. It's great. I look forward to it every year!

Although this year I have gained some weight so I'm a little nervous about getting into my swimsuit. It's not fair for me to be upset though because I have had plenty of opportunities to change my habit and lose weight. It's something I never do though.

Either way!
I can't for tomorrow night when we get driving :)

ILP.org

So an old family friend, Paul Bowles, is going to Moscow as part of a program in which you visit another country and help teach English. This seems like such an awesome opportunity to go visit and to experience another culture. Just reading the website has definitely sparked an interest and would be something that would be so amazing to do!
If you know me at all, then you can probably guess that at this exact moment I'm already planning how I am going to go visit! Whether this will happen or not is a totally different story, but it's definitely nice to dream! I would definitely have to get rid of all my debt and become very diligent in saving up money. Maybe I will get a part time job just to help. I probably should anyways because I have too much debt and I just want to get everything paid off anyways... Hmmmm...
The problem is, I want a part time job that is willing to only have me work Wednesday and Thursday nights. not a lot of places are willing to do that. Maybe I just have to look hard enough. I know it wouldn't be a huge increase in money, but any bit helps!

I will have to see how I deal with stress this semester and if I do okay. If I am able to handle it then next semester I will see about getting a small part time job.

Anyways!
This program seems awesome and is definitely something that I would be interested in!

Now back to day dreaming!
